Where are your products made?
Our kitchen textiles and table linens are hand printed by Pamela Haining in micro batches in her home studio in East Lothian, U.K.
Can your products be washed?
All textiles can be machine washed, we recommend machine washing at 30c using a mild detergent to preserve the print. Washing at a higher temperature may affect the longevity of the design and cause it to fade.
We also recommend not using fabric conditioner with your hand printed kitchen linens. Fabric conditioner affects the absorbency of textiles such as our cotton tea towels, as it applies a film to the fabric.
Iron on the reverse of the print whilst still damp. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean.
What fabrics do you use for your tea towels and other textiles?
We are very proud to work with a highly ethical supplier to use only sustainable organic cotton fabric. The fabric is handwoven on small looms in small, artisanal, batches in southern India by a family run group of weavers. Our tea towels and napkins are sewn by a Women’s Cooperative from the same area.
Are your products handmade?
From start to finish, every element of our kitchen textiles and table linens are handmade. The fabrics we use are handwoven and crafted in small batches, they are not factory produced and may occasional have small imperfections, which we see as individuality rather than flaws. Pamela Haining hand prints her own designs onto the finished fabrics in her home studio, without a press, preferring this method over digital printing to give each item its own identity and uniqueness.
Is the ink you use on your products safe?
Yes! We use water based inks that do not contain PVC or phthalates. These inks do not contain ozone-depleting chemicals such as CFCs and HCFCs, aromatic hydrocarbons or any volatile solvents. They don’t contain lead, heavy metals or any toxic chemicals whatsoever.
Do you collaborate and work on commissions?
Yes, please get in touch if you’d like to work on something together.
Where are you based?
Pamela works from her home studio in East Lothian, Scotland. Unfortunately studio/shop visits are not possible at this time. Please visit our online shop for all products or get in touch if you have any questions.
